This was just something that crossed my mind and I thought could really make things interesting. I am new here, so forgive me, I am not really sure of who is truly in charge and running this forum.
Perhaps, whoever that person may be though, would like to take it upon themselves to actually create a Shogun for a character. You are after all, in control of the entire land, yes? People may then, send in for applications to be Daimyo (yes I understand the Daimyo rose up against the Shogunate, but bear with me...) and when accepted, whichever Daimyo they have chosen to be, perhaps they could become the moderator of their respected province. They could then be in charge of plotting specific role play scenarios, perhaps on special occasions or a weekly basis, and creating certain laws or rules for their province.
As I said, I am new, so this may actually be the idea here already. But if it isn't, what do you think of it? Think of it.
You log in one day to find Sagami No Kuni no longer just says "Kage, Hieda Kazuki"
but perhaps it reads, "Kage, Hieda Kazuki, Hojo Ujitsuna"
"How peculiar..." you think to yourself. "Who is that?"
You open up the link to Sagami no Kuni to find a brand new stickied post-
"EXPANDING WEST"
The post is a cry for battle of the surrounding enemy provinces. Hojo Ujitsuna vies for complete control of the land, and he will achieve his goal.
I personally don't want to play a Daimyo, at least not yet. I just think it adds a whole new perspective. Perhaps some day a rebellion could strike and overthrow an unwanted Daimyo or his Karo?

This is a fantastic idea, as I already said in the CBox. If you'd like, as it's your idea, I'd be willing to give you the leash needed to implement this in the forum. I love when members come and get interested enough to come up with ideas.
If you're not up for it, however, I will take care of implementation with some of the other staff.

Really I'd think all that needs to be implemented are the characters themselves. Once they have filled their spot as Daimyo they may then take action with a Council or something and create new laws for the province.

Perhaps we could create a separate "character sheet" if you will for Daimyo and their armies including their provinces, their agenda, their banner, and their trusted Lords and Samurai and court officials and whatnot. This could possibly give people a preset role to play, which they could create the character for. For instance; Daimyo Application HOJO CLAN[/b] Name: Hojo Ujiyasu Alias: The Lion of Sagami Age: 32 Occupation: Lord of Sagami no Kuni Title: Sagami no Kami, Sakyo-daibu History: Ujiyasu was the son of Hôjô Ujitsuna. His first battlefield experience came in 1530, at the Battle of Ozawahara, where the Hôjô won a victory against Uesugi Tomooki. His father made a great effort to tutor him on the matters he would face as daimyô, both in war and in administration. Ujitasuna passed away in 1541, and Ujiyasu assumed full control of the clan. He contended with both main branches of the Uesugi house (the Yamaouchi and Ogigayatsu) and in 1544 was faced with danger on two sides, with the Takeda and Imagawa allied against him to the west, and the Uesugi threatening to the north. Ujiyasu marched into Suruga Province and faced Imagawa Yoshimoto at Kitsunebashi. At this time his ally, Ashikaga Haruuji (the koga kubô), betrayed the Hôjô and aligned with the Uesugi. In November 1545 Kawagoe Castle was surrounded by the Uesugi and Ashikaga. To free up his forces to respond, Ujiyasu was compelled to accept a peace settlement with the Imagawa (brokered by Takeda Shingen, who was now involved in fighting in Shinano) that entailed giving up the Hôjô lands in eastern Suruga Province. This treaty allowed Ujiyasu to march to Kawagoe's relief. He won the decisive Battle of Kawagoe, fought at night, in May 1546 and dealt the Ogigyatsu Uesugi a heavy blow. By 1551 he had defeated both branches of the Uesugi family (the Ogigayatsu and Yamaouchi) and expanded into southern Kôzuke Province. Physical Description:I have to go but I will gladly elaborate on this plan later on. However, I'm not sure exactly WHAT year we are roleplaying in, so it makes it a bit difficult to pin-point exactly what events have and have not occured. If we're going with the idea that it is the year 1550, then the Ashikaga will be well on their way out of the picture within years. So everything up until the year 1550 could be fact, but it would need to be reflected within the provinces of the land. I'm not sure which regions are owned by Hojo currently, ( I think Musashi and Sagami) while every other district is ruled by somoene else. However, Hojo controlled much of the Kanto and Kozuke regions by 1551. I wish Kamui were here so we could get this sorted out, haha.

This is great, we already have a couple Daimyo, so it would be relatively easy to get it started. And I can moderate, as I am the admin. I will get a special Daimyo board up in the character accepted section. Then I can set up some guidelines for people who want to have war plots going on in their lands, etc. People can sign up to participate with one or more character and then each Daimyo can start the war plots in their boards. Does that sound okay to you? I don't want to ruin your idea, or take the initial integrity of it away, which is partially why I wanted you to manage it, as it's your creation. :3

That sounds perfect! It doesn't take the integrity away at all, I think it will still prove to be interesting. Would there still be a possiblity of the Daimyo character becoming a mod of some sort in their respected province?

Yeah, we can do a group to make daimyos moderators for their prospective boards.

Also I was thinking we could have a map of the Islands of Japan that reflect current events in Sengoku. For instance, if someone captures a province, the province is represented on a map with their respected color code, like so.
