Personality Description: Short tempered, yet laid back, Sato has a very kind heart but despises people who put others down to bring themselves up without reason. He has trained in the Kenjutsu style of swordsmanship, teaching to carry two blades at all times: the katana and the wakizashi. He has a lot of heart, and is not afraid to prove himself to those who question him.

Hates those who discourage others. Hates those who wish to put others down. Hates those who ruin whole hearted fun. Hates those who wish for nothing but destruction. Hates those with lack of control though he himself sometimes is short tempered.
History: Sato comes from a Samurai family and was raised in the village of Takezo in Musashi no Kuni. His father, Itsuki Tojo was a loyal and well respected Samurai who served under the Hojo. Sato has been trained in the Kenjutsu style which teaches use of two swords in battle to optimize effectiveness in blocking and dodging. At the age of 12 he surpassed his eldest brother Itsuki Shinmon (13) in his swordplay and soon began to seek out challenges from others training in the same style. He proved to be very formidable and traveled away from his home in the small town of Takezo to study with a master, Kagemura Isei, in the ways of Kenjutsu. At the Kagemura Dojo in Edo he became very versed in the way of Kenjutsu no Kagemura and the philosophy of Bushido. Kagemura himself was taught by the very well respected and famous Kamizumii Ise-no-Kami no Hidetsuna. Though Sato had studied for many years and had greatly increased his skill, he still yearned to truly understand the mental capacity needed to live peacefully by the sword, and only to fight when necessary. Learning such a virtue does not come without a price. Sato learned through various duels with fellow disciples the fear of the heart. The fear of battle. He learned to see through the fear. Through the fear of the unknown. Through the pupil to the unknown depths of the soul.
His name circulated the surrounding area with stories of him crashing down upon his opponents in one swift motion much like a wave does. This happened only after a stare down which seemed to take hours, yet only lasted seconds. Sato's opponents, drawn in by the strange, foreign beauty of his deep blue eyes - the soft green rim around the pupil entrancing them - piercing through their very being and exposing every flaw and insecurity within them. His unique eyes and powerful yet calm nature gave birth to his alias: "Umi-me", meaning "Ocean Eyes".
He truly was a prime example of the Kenjutsu no Kagemura style. One must not only see, but visualize. Do not merely see your opponent standing in front of you. See him attacking, before he even does. See him dodging your planned movements. Take into account any and every possibility, and then exact one specific possibility to your opponent. Control your chi. Control the chi of your enemy. Control the entire essence of the situation. Once you have control, you must strike.
A turning point came in Sato's progress when at the age of 17, news of his family's massacre was delivered to the dojo along with his father's legendary yoroi. Sato became vindictive, spiteful. He wanted to exact revenge on the lowly class of "samurai" who massacred his village. A small faction from the North province of Musashi no Kuni lead by Tsujikaze Kiyosuke rebelled against the Hojo's control of the area and removed thousands of Hojo Loyalists, including Sato's family. They traveled south from the north part of Musashi, burning and destroying Hojo mines, lumber yards, stills, crops, and blacksmiths. The Tsujikaze scorched a path on their way straight to Sagami no Kuni where they fought many battles with the Hojo. Poorly prepared and supplied, the Tsujikaze were forced to retreat and Kiyosuke's plan's for control over Musashi and the Hojo seemed to fail. He has been in hiding since his retreat from the Hojo, trying to rebuild and rekindle his rebellion. The yearning for revenge burned inside of him like a raging wild fire, consuming everything within. His hopes and aspirations, as well as his sanity. Sato has hopes of one day joining the Hojo in order to defeat the Tsujikaze and remove Kiyosuke's head. With, or without a master, this deed will be done. Other disciples seemed to notice a change in Sato's overall attitude towards the sword, others, and even life in general. Sato became an outcast by his own accord. He would sneak away from the dojo many nights to head into the city and drink. He would wake at inns with his face stuck to the table, or between a geisha's breasts. He would then return to the dojo, reeking of liquor and demanding a match from other disciples out of rage. Needless to say, this activity could no longer continue and Sato found himself removed from the dojo and alone. In the cold. Wandering the streets of Edo.
At the age of 18, Sato fell to a life of petty crime. He took to pick-pocketing and stealing from merchants to feed his thirst for sake. The rut he was stuck in was only getting deeper, and the carriage was no longer simply hinged, but it too was dug in the ground. It wasn't until one night he met Tomoe, a geisha in Edo, that he could begin to get his life back on track. Tomoe was very well known for her skills as an entertainer. Men drooled over her, comparing her beauty to that of some sort of Goddess.
Sato sat one night at an inn. It was his typical routine, but this wasn't a typical night. He had spent the day wandering the market streets of Edo snatching things from tables when the coast was "clear" (as it had been so many times before) and shuffling through strangers sleeves as they walked past, hoping to find mon. He had been caught before, and he had dealt with it accordingly. He was, afterall, a trained swordsman. Tonight was different because as he took his sip of sake, he wondered how Kagemura Isei thought of him now. Word of his current state had to have spread. The son of the glorious Itsuki Tojo somehow always coming up with enough mon for a gourd of sake at the end of the night. How pathetic. What would Itsuki Tojo think of him? Sato sipped his sake from the gourd, and placed it flat on the table. He was finished with it. It wasn't empty, in fact it was half full. Tomoe approached the table and grabbed the gourd of sake. Had she not have done so, Sato may have continued on the fast track to nowhere. It was Tomoe who would help Sato realize the beauty in life, for it was she who introduced him to the Shamisen. Music changed Sato completely. It was as though he were able to express himself, not through the sword, but through the shamisen. All of the anger and rage he felt seemed to disappear when he played. Tomoe always cheered him on and sang along. The thought of her still makes Sato smile to this day. They were never intimately involved. She was simply his rock. She kept his grounded, helped him to see straight again. He was able to speak to her and share all of his experiences, thoughts, ideas, and concerns with her. She became like a sister to him. It was Tomoe's will and kindness that got Itsuki Sato to continue on with his plan for revenge and peace, which is where we find him today at the age of 21.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Swordplay/Footwork. Observation. Navigation.
Among his weaknesses are beautiful women, sake, and guns.
Weapons/Armor: Traditional samurai yoroi he received from his father Itsuki Tojo.
Katana. Wakazashi. An all-seeing eye and tactful mind.
Magic: None. Unless the ability to truly see everything going on around you counts as magic.

The sun rose over the tops of sakura trees on the bluff. As a ray of light shined in through the rice-paper dividers of the inn, Sato let out one last interrupted snore, cringed his eyes and yawned, out stretching his hands only to knock over the gourd of sake he had been drinking the night before.
Sato sat upright brushing the sand from his eyes, and looked over to the spill. Shaking his head, he then placed his hands on the sides of his head as if to compress his mind.
"Agh, my head is throbbing..." he said as he moved his robe and sat up straight on his knees. He took the gourd of sake and turned it upside down, dangling it above his mouth hoping he could salvage any left-over drops.
"I really should stop drinking this stuff so much...shouldn't I?" he debated as he winked one eye closed, looking in through the spout of the gourd as if he were going to find any liquid inside. Realizing the gourd had spilled completely, he pouted his lips, a dissatisfied look glazing over his eyes.
"Well! It is another day, there's always more sake to be found!"
